Friday, October 21, 6:30 p.m. Register
In times of despair, books can be a welcome escape, but they also can teach us about the world, ourselves and others. Where do we find hope? In books. In this keynote session, Mayra and Marie talk about the impact books have had during hard times in their own lives and how they found comfort and encouragement among the pages of their favorite novels. Mayra and Marie’s love of books led to a passion for writing and then co-authoring—a journey of vulnerability and compassion. They’ll explain how this journey gave them courage to write about the challenging work of allyship and forgiveness, and how this work can tear down walls, build bridges, and create paths forward, together in community.
