Local Author Spotlight - November 2017

Marilyn Almodóvar

Marilyn Almodóvar is the author of the Young Adult time traveling series Chronicles of the Interred. She also writes under the pen names F. P. Alamo (Spanish romance) and Marilyn Jeulin (New Adult -- Closer to the Edge coming in winter 2018). After living in England for a decade, Almodóvar returned to Central Florida where she lives with her husband and two sons.

Lucienne Diver

Lucienne Diver writes the Latter-Day Olympians urban fantasy series for Samhain and the Vamped series of young adult novels. Her short stories have been published in various anthologies, and her essay “Abuse” appeared in Dear Bully: 70 Authors Tell Their Stories. Casey Curry

Casey Curry is the Director of Creative Writing at Howard W. Blake Fine Arts High School in Tampa, Florida. She holds a B.A. in Philosophy and Religion and M. Ed. in Gifted Education with a concentration in Creative Writing. Her novel Promises, published in 2014, was written as a project for the National Arts Teachers Grant. Married to a retired senior naval officer, Ms. Curry has three daughters.

Amber Bennett

Amber has a Bachelor of Arts degree in Business and Human Resources Management from Saint Leo University. She is a Florida native and currently lives in Tampa. Stella on Science is Amber Bennett's first children's book. When not writing children's books, she spends her free time with her amazing husband Kevin, and their children, daughter Stella Rose and son Logan Kai.

JP Roff

JP Roff is a Tampa resident who has lived around the United States. The Kingdom of Life follows the adventures of Lani the Leo as he explores his kingdom, meeting all the other characters of the zodiac and gains the understanding that we all need each. This is his first children's book, and he has several adult fiction books forthcoming. JP is also an artist using acrylics for vast paintings on canvas.

For Local Writers

The purpose of the local author collection is to support and encourage content creation, entrepreneurial achievement, and community prosperity, and to encourage local authors to meet and share their work and experiences.

Submissions are welcome from local authors that reside in the Tampa Bay area (Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, Sarasota, Manatee or Polk County).

Be sure to take a look at the self-publishing resources in the library collection.

Print Book Submissions

  • Authors must submit a physical copy of their book for review along with an Local Author Submission form.
  • Please see the form for guidelines and more information about the process.

eBook Submissions

The following items are required for all local author e-book submissions:

  • A signed copy of the Supplier Agreement
  • A completed Author Worksheet
  • Two versions of your work's cover image (one full-size and one thumbnail)
  • A digital copy of the book itself, in EPUB or PDF format
