Troy Legette

Troy Legette was originally born in New Jersey. He relocated to Florida, which fueled his desire to write poetry. Troy is a Graduate of Hillsborough High School Class of 1995; he completed his Master’s of Science in Accountancy degree in 2015.

A. O. Schnabel

While an aeronautical engineer at Boeing Aircraft, Arnold O. Schnabel was challenged by his fellow engineers to defend his claim that the Bible writers were inspired by God. His book, Has God Spoken, which is in its 5th edition with over 50,000 printed, attempts to do just that, using science and history to defend the Bible’s claim of being God inspired.

Mark Komula

Mark Komula has worked at everything from mechanic to minister but has mostly been an educator. He has taught at a variety of levels, from elementary to college. Mark holds a master’s of science in technology and a master’s in business administration. He lives in Tampa, FL.

Ricko Donovan

Ricko Donovan is an award-winning singer/songwriter who plays a variety of stringed instruments. A hammered dulcimer virtuoso, silent film composer, and a critically acclaimed novelist, his song Devil at My Door won Nashville's Song Spree Contest in the Alternative Country category. His novel, Sunnyville, won high praise from Nashville Lifestyle Magazine and was included in its 2014 Summer Reading List Picks.

Sherry Skovgaard

Sherry Skovgaard is a children's book author and former speech therapist. She graduated from Colorado State College (now called University of Northern Colorado) with a degree in Special Education and Speech. Sherry lives in Valrico, FL with her husband and has 3 children and 5 grandchildren.

For Local Writers

The purpose of the local author collection is to support and encourage content creation, entrepreneurial achievement, and community prosperity, and to encourage local authors to meet and share their work and experiences.

Submissions are welcome from local authors that reside in the Tampa Bay area (Hillsborough, Pinellas, Pasco, Hernando, Citrus, Sarasota, Manatee or Polk County).

Be sure to take a look at the self-publishing resources in the library collection.

Print Book Submissions

  • Authors must submit a physical copy of their book for review along with an Local Author Submission form.
  • Please see the form for guidelines and more information about the process.

eBook Submissions

The following items are required for all local author e-book submissions:

  • A signed copy of the Supplier Agreement
  • A completed Author Worksheet
  • Two versions of your work's cover image (one full-size and one thumbnail)
  • A digital copy of the book itself, in EPUB or PDF format
